Buy the Dye DM5 for Cheap!
Over the last few months I have used many DM5s and am impressed with the build and over all quality of the gun.
Barrel:
The ultra light barrel not only was I impressed with the weight but also the accuracy. This has to be one of the greatest barrel systems I have ever used.
Regulator:
The hyper 2 is a well designed and stylish reg. With it broken in I was able to get +/- 3 and fresh it was about +/- 5. This is simply incredible, and I now expect nothing less from any other stock reg.
Board:
The stock board comes low on modes but its one mode is all I need. Uncapped semi, very nice loving that stock. This was a major negative though because of the lack of modes it is almost necessary to buy a new board/ or chip. Chips run on average of 25 dollars and boards 125. I recommend the X chip you can order them off eBay for a flat fee of 25 dollars and have all the necessary modes, and also some of the best led I have ever seen.
Feed neck:
Dye seems to just be adding to the greatness of this gun. With a low rise clamping feed neck being added this is a great step up from the DM4 tall feed neck.
Trigger:
The stock trigger has to be one of the best I have seen. Light pull with a unique look and a great feel. This would be a huge plus for me because that is one more thing I don’t need to upgrade.
ASA:
I noticed some of the new DM5s are coming with a dye on off. I personally have seen and used this asa and personally love it. It places the tank in the perfect place and the on off valve is easy to turn unlike many such as the check it uni-mount.
Efficiency:
I was getting about 7 or 8 pods on a full 70 cubic inch 4500 phi tank. This seemed great and was a great improvement over the DM4s horrible efficiency.
Speed:
OHH the pure speed of the DM5. I was hitting 22 and 25 on my DM5 which has a (cp razor trigger and tadao board!) On an all stock DM5 I could easily hit 20 and then hold 19 to 20 bps. That was stunningly fast!
Customer Service:
I have personally dealt with the techs and customer service at Dye. They are simply the greatest company to deal with. They replaced my bolt stop and re lubed and put new o-rings in my DM5. This was all for NO CHARGE and I were simply stunned.
Overall:
This is a great marker for the price and one of the fastest I have ever shot. With the CUP coming up there has been a dramatic drop in prices. You can pick up a lightly upped DM5 for 450 and UPP this is a stunning price for a stunning marker! Dye has come up with another award winning gun!!
